Asia Martello
Asia joined the Law Centre in October 2021, shortly after completing her training as a money adviser at Toynbee Hall under the Debt Free London project.
Throughout her degree in Law, she worked on UNESCO projects to protect local community heritage in rural areas of Europe. She also interned at a few ‘no win no fee’ law firms, where she talked to clients who had suffered discrimination at the workplace or unfair dismissal, and volunteered in the welfare benefits team at Community Links. This drew her attention to the poverty and deprivation too many people still face.
Asia decided to move into debt advice to directly help people who are having problems with money. She discovered that advice work can play a big role in helping community members get access to support and resources that they are entitled to. She’s passionate about helping people, and thinks feeling on top of your money is an important part of being able to enjoy life.
