We’re shortlisted for Legal Aid Firm of 2020

We’re honoured to have been shortlisted for Legal Aid Firm of the Year.

These annual awards are organised by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group to celebrate the work of social justice lawyers. The winners will be announced on 7 July 2020, at a virtual awards ceremony

Patrick our CEO says:

It’s fantastic news that we’ve been shortlisted for Legal Aid Firm of the Year. Since I arrived at the Law Centre, I’ve consistently been in awe at the quality and depth of commitment of our team of staff and volunteers.

Every year our team provides expert legal advice and achieves life-changing results for thousands of local people. Being chosen as a finalist for this award is a wonderful recognition of their skill, kindness and dedication to people in need and to justice in our community.

‘I’m also delighted to see colleagues from Bristol and Merseyside Lacw Centres being shortlisted for individual awards – further testament to the ommitment of law centres across the UK to helping people on low incomes to defend their rights.

Chris Minnoch, CEO of Legal Aid Practitioners Group, the membership body representing legal aid practitioners in England and Wales. says:

The finalists selected by the LALY judges this year truly reflect the broad range of lawyers and organisations who all have a vital role to play in ensuring people in our communities have access to high-calibre legal advice. We are recognising the lawyers who are working to protect the rights of prisoners charged with the most serious offences; of children at risk of FGM; of families living in unsafe, unsuitable homes; and much more.
