BBC’s The One Show films our community advice clinic

Earlier this year, the BBC’s The One Show spent a day with us filming one of our free community advice clinics in Croydon.

Broadcast in February, it showed 4 million viewers a snapshot of the need for access to justice in our communities, as well as the impact and dedication of our volunteer lawyers.

You can watch a clip here.

Chike, one of our regular pro bono volunteers who featured in The One Show filming, says:

‘I’ve been a lawyer for ten years and I’ve seen how there’s an imbalance – those who have more money than others can take advantage of people who can’t afford legal help and don’t know what to do.

‘When we volunteer our gifts and legal skills to help the community, it means everyone has access to good legal representation, and it starts to even out the huge power imbalance. If you have this talent, share it.’

We’re really grateful to everyone who took part in the filming, and as always to all the volunteer legal advisers who use their time and talents to support local people.
