We are delighted to be expanding our employment advice with the recruitment of our new discrimination caseworker.

Lance Baynham joined our team this month, although he is not new to the Law Centre, having been volunteering with us for a few months since he completed his Bar Course. He will be focussing on helping people defend their rights who have been discriminated against in the workplace:

“It remains the case, firstly, that if you can’t afford a lawyer, then your right not to be dismissed unfairly is essentially negated, and secondly, even if you have a strong claim on discriminatory grounds, there is very little public funding available. This is where the work of the Law Centre is crucial.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to huge employment issues, particularly disputes in relation to the furlough scheme and redundancies.
