Our joint letter to the PM

We, along with 60 other charities, have sent a joint letter to the Prime Minister demanding that he takes urgent action over the energy and cost of living crisis to prevent millions of households falling deeper into poverty this winter.

In particular the letter sets out the urgent need to:

• Extend the financial support available to people this winter, and as a first step to increase benefits in line with inflation
• Embark on a national programme to insulate homes, schools, hospitals and workplaces
• Implement a plan for the rapid roll-out of clean, renewable energy
