Last week was Refugee Week and we were honoured to celebrate 50 years of working with refugees and ensuring they access the justice they deserve. Refugee Week (17th-23rd June) allows for us all to take the time to reflect on the importance of legal aid and the necessity of this service in supporting the asylum seekers who have made unimaginable sacrifices to flee persecution and seek safety for themselves and their families.
While we celebrate our 50th anniversary year, we are reminded that our journey towards ensuring access to justice would have been impossible without the support and commitment of our volunteers.

As South West London Law Centres enters its 50th year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what a monumental achievement this milestone presents, not only for us but for our clients, our communities and for access to justice as a whole.
It is incumbent upon the government to listen to community-driven solutions. As advocates for social justice and equitable housing, we urge policymakers to engage with grassroots organisations and marginalised communities to ensure that any housing initiative is implemented in a way that truly meets the needs of those most affected.
